Step 3: Removing the existing evaporator coil. Before the new coil can be installed on top or at the bottom of the furnace, most HVAC installations will require you to remove the existing coil.

Step 4: the next step is removing the existing refrigerant lines as new ones will replace them. These refrigerant lines are copper-based and connect the air conditioner and outdoor condenser, where the refrigerant travels. Once done, you can install the evaporating coils.
